Latest Update on Tropical Storm Nicholas:
The storm has moved slightly to the east and is expected to make landfall later this evening near Matagorda Bay.
The main impacts to Galveston County will start this evening and last throughout the morning tomorrow. In addition to the heavy rains of 6-12 inches in the next 24 hours, it’s possible we will experience tropical storm force winds starting late tonight and eventually subsiding tomorrow afternoon. Flash flooding remains the greatest concern with this storm. The County is under a Storm Surge Warning with a forecasted 2-4 feet of storm surge.
