Galveston County COVID-19 Business Taskforce Launches New Website

July 29, 2020

In early July, Galveston County Judge Mark Henry began working with the local area chambers of commerce and the Galveston County Health District to launch a new COVID-19 Business Taskforce with the sole purpose of helping Galveston County Businesses mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in the community. This new team, chaired by League City Councilman Hank Dugie, began the task of developing resources and COVID-19 mitigation best practices and the culmination of these efforts is the newly launched www.GCCBTF.org.

This new website provides answers to the most asked questions from the Galveston County business community and helps link businesses to local, state, and federal coronavirus resources. Nurses and epidemiologists from the GCHD provided the most asked for information and collaborated on creating content for the website.

In addition to the new online resources that are now available, the Taskforce also came up with the Galveston County promise. Replicating the successful pledge created by League City’s Emergency Turnaround Taskforce, the Galveston County promise provides a way for businesses in the community to show the public that they are committed to taking the necessary steps to helping slow the spread of COVID-19.

The Galveston County COVID-19 Business Taskforce will continue to work with the local business community to provide the most up to date resources and information. To take the Galveston County Promise, you can visit www.GCCBFT.org or contact your local chamber of commerce.
