Per the National Weather Service (NWS) Moderate to heavy rain to develop over portions of Galveston County Friday afternoon and continue in periods through Friday night into Saturday morning.
Per the National Weather Service (NWS), we are expecting another tide that will likely impact Hwy 87 near SH 124 on Wednesday during the late afternoon and into the evening. Please exercise caution when traveling along this stretch of highway and heed all warnings and barricades. Drive with care near the intersection of SH 87 and SH 124 as the roadway is covered with 4- 8 inches of water and debris. Crews are attempting to clear the debris, but conditions are not improving. Expect that up to a foot of water and debris may cover the road during high tides tonight and in the morning. Proceed with caution.
