The bridge connects Galveston Island to Pelican Island, where Texas A&M University at Galveston and several industrial businesses are located.
The bridge will be closed until further notice, and there is not an estimated repair time available. We ask that traffic avoid backing up on 51st Street.
The Galveston County Navigation District operates the bridge, and additional inquiries may be directed to their office.
